Sketchbook Sunday

For my new drawing course I bought a book about cats in a thrift store, for which I paid the astonishing amount of 1 euro. 🙂 I already had a very old book about cats at home, but it’s a shame to use that one of course. You’ll always see, that I will need it then, after not touching it for the last ten years. Well… maybe twice, so I could dust the book shelf.

The purpose of the book is to mess around and to not let imperfection bother me in any way. I found out, that’s pretty difficult for a perfectionist like me…. I started haltingly, but once at work, I could not stop myself. It is so much fun to not worry about the end result for once. I can fail endlessly with this book. If I’m satisfied, I will show you my work and if I don’t like it, I’ll flip the page quickly.

Schetsboek zondag

Voor mijn nieuwe cursus heb ik in de kringloopwinkel een boek over katten aangeschaft; hij kostte maar liefst 1 euro. 🙂 Ik had thuis al een heel oud boek over katten, maar het is natuurlijk zonde om die te gebruiken. Zul je zien dat ik het ineens nodig heb, terwijl ik het de afgelopen tien jaar niet één keer heb aangeraakt! Nou… misschien twee keer, om de boekenplank af te kunnen stoffen.

De bedoeling van het boek is om er lekker in te kliederen en je niet te laten belemmeren door perfectie. Dat is nog vrij moeilijk voor een perfectionist, kwam ik achter… Met horten en stoten ben ik begonnen, maar eenmaal aan het werk liet ik alle remmen los. Het is zo leuk om eens niet bezig te zijn met een goed eindresultaat. In dit boek kan ik gewoon eindeloos falen. Als ik tevreden ben, laat ik het zien en als ik het niet mooi vind, ga ik snel door naar de volgende pagina.
